Too Cool for Valentine's Day? You'll Still Want to Copy This Red-and-Pink Nail Idea (Hot Off the Runway!)

Even if you have no special plans for Valentine's Day, I have the perfect red-and-pink nail idea for you to paint on this week. It's chic, upbeat, and straight off the fall 2014 Fashion Week runways. (You'll be so ahead of the trends, what else is new.)
It's a reverse French manicure featuring bubble-gum-pink nail polish layered atop a cherry-red base, worn by models at the Honor show.

The best part? You might already own red and pink colors that you can layer just like these. (The exact shades shown here: Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men as a base, with Deborah Lippmann Break 4 Love—a new shade going on sale next month—on top). Just paint on the red first, let it dry, then cover with the pink, starting about 1/4 of the way up your nail and following the shape of your cuticle, so you leave red peeking out all around the edges.
What do you think of this pretty Valentines' Day nail idea from Fashion Week? Would you try it?
