Straight From the New York Fashion Week Runways: THE Boots You'll Be Wearing Next Fall (but Want Right Now)

As a die-hard boot person, I am completely ecstatic to see that not only are boots going strong for fall 2014, they're also cooler, edgier, and, dare I say, more alternative than seasons past. I can't wait to try out these innovative mash-ups of classic and futuristic elements, compelling color play, and inspired shapes and design. Let's take a look at the Fashion Week runways:

Nikki's already drooling over all those must-own accessories by Alexander Wang for fall, but I just have to bring out this mule-boot-midcalf-boot hybrid one more time. The exquisite laser-cut leather detailing is just to die for.

Derek Lam went slouchy but sleek with a streamlined buckle-wrap detail and architectural heel.

Opening Ceremony took one slouchy and upped the ante with a cool-kid tracksuit zip detail on the front.

Rag & Bone re-nvented a little girl's candy red rain boot with a baggy silhouette, a toggle cinch, and a blocked heel.

Tommy Hilfiger inventively merged Ugg-esque camel suede with a vintage cowboy boot silhouette and added green piping and a rugged platform.

3.1 Phillip Lim mashed up Victorian button-up detail with an '80s fold-over, a '70s platform, and millennial blocking. Which alterna-chic boot do you like best? Are you more a boot person or a shoe/heel person?
