Happy Birthday, Chloe Grace Moretz! The Sartorially Skilled Teen Is Our Glamour Style Icon of the Week

Is it weird to have a major style crush on a teenager? Not if it's acting wunderkind and fashion darling Chloe Grace Moretz! Honestly, sometimes I forget that she was born in, uh...1997. She's got skills eons beyond any average teen or adult even—not just with her impressive acting talent (remember how she played Jack Donaghey's formidable schoolgirl corporate nemesis on 30 Rock?), but also with her discerning sartorial flair. Chloe's style is modern, just risky enough, and always age-appropriate, but her refined taste level and top-notch command of styling (check out her street style) prove way beyond her years.
But wait: Today is Chloe's birthday! And she's turning all of 17. We're sure all the fashion houses have her birthday presents covered, so we'll celebrate in the best way we know how—by gifting Chloe with the Glamour Style Icon of the Week honor. Let's get this party started! (Sorry, couldn't help it.)

I couldn't help but start off with this gem of a photo. Chloe hit the big time at age seven, starring movies like The Amityville Horror. Here's an adorbs Chloe with her costar Ryan Reynolds (you're welcome) in...2005. Prepare to start feeling really old.

Her career kept chugging right along with roles in movies like Joseph Gordon-Levitt's wise-beyond-her-years (I spot a trend here) little sister in (500) Days of Summer in 2009 and Hit-Girl in Kick Ass in 2010. The designers took notice too—here she is decked out in age-approps Chanel at the 2010 EA British Academy Children's Awards.

The same year she starred in Hugo and attended the New York City premiere in a romantic but not overly girly blush-hued Dolce & Gabbana frock. Wouldn't that make the perfect junior-prom dress?

I love how Chloe isn't afraid to take youthful risks with her fashion, like this goth-fem, raw-edged, and embellished bodice Chanel frock she wore to the 2012 Critics' Choice Awards.

The lucky 15-year-old (at the time) hit the premiere of Dark Shadows in a to-die-for brocade Stella McCartney dress and Jimmy Choo sandals. The color, cut, and texture just look beautiful on her. Is it inappropriate to covet a teenager's wardrobe?

Chloe just nailed the perfect mix of modern, edgy, and chic in this full-on Fendi dress-and-heels combo that she wore to the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.

She's not afraid to take a risk with color, either, like with this electric neon yellow and lace Simone Rocha dress she wore at last year's People's Choice Awards.

Chloe has a lockdown on British designer Christopher Kane's cool-girl dresses, even when it's freezing outside. She supported the screening of her upcoming film Laggies at Sundance last month in a gold brocade tunic by the designer, layered over a black turtleneck.
