Gucci Showed Jeans on the Runway at Milan Fashion Week: High-Fashion Denim Outfit Ideas

Here's a straight-off-the-runway fall 2014 trend that we can definitely co-opt for our real-life wardrobes. Check out these two looks from Gucci's Milan Fashion Week show yesterday—and then let's all go pull our faded blue jeans out of our closets, shall we? Because it looks like jeans are back in high fashion.
Gucci showed its new ankle-length, washed and faded, slightly-tapered indigo jeans in two combos—with an ashy-blue double-breasted peacoat:

And, again, with an OTT super-furry light blue coat:

The second look feels very late-1970s, don't you think? Especially with the glasses and the brown boots.
Here are my takeaway tips from these two looks:
1. Blue and brown, together again: Looks like this color combo is making a comeback this fall.
2. Reviving an old favorite: Is this the end of skinny jeans? Maybe a looser-fitting, comfier pair that's slightly tapered will be the new shape come later this year.
3. Pair jeans with a strong top: While the jeans are softer and looser, the tops Gucci paired them with are more structured and sharp and/or more dramatic. So, there's a styling tip.
