And of course it turns out that one of my favorite celebrity makeup artists, Nick Barose, did Lena's makeup for the event. One intriguing trick he used: You can "cheat" with your eyeliner by drawing it slightly above the lash line to make the eye seem bigger; the effect also mimics the cool graphic eyeliner we've seen on the runway, where it literally sits in the crease of the eye. Nick also winged Lena's black liquid liner out just enough to look dramatic but not retro. He swirled Surratt beauty Artistique Blush in Guimuave onto the apples of Lena's cheeks, then blended around the edges. "It's a bright pink with sheer texture and soft silky sheen that adds a pop of color," he says. Sticking with the girly-pink theme, he paired the blush with a laid-back bright-pink lip stain: Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Stain in Lively. "To balance out the pink, I contrasted it with darker brows by filling them in and drawing a bigger and fuller shape with Ramy Perfect Brows Wand," Nick says.
Loving Lena's sexy hair texture too? Hairstylist Rheanne White created it by using John Masters salt spray.
What do you think of Lena Dunham's makeup and hairstyle here? Have you tried any of the beauty products mentioned?
P.S. Lena fans, don't forget to read today's Girls recap over on Obsessed and tell us what you thought about the most recent episode (should Marnie and Ray become a thing?).
