For years, I've a not-so-secret fashion obsession with British collegiate outfitters Jack Wills—not-so-secret only because I'm slightly embarrassed that I'm in my 30s and still can't stop myself from wanting nearly everything the company sells. Doesn't hurt that the dresses are to-die-for cute and the sweats are some of the thickest, coziest, and softest around. Sigh.
Anyhoo, today, Jack Wills announced that it's appointed a new creative director—the ultra-cool, super-legit London-based Richard Nicoll.
"Richard's arrival shows how far Jack Wills has come—and indicates our ambition as we grow further," Jack Wills' CEO Wendy Becker told The Telegraph U.K. "His collections have global appeal, but he is a British designer at heart and will lead the creative direction of our brand into its next important phase. His aesthetic and talent in designing for both men and women will be a great match for our future."
I've been a huge fan of Nicoll for more than a decade—he graduated from Central Saint Martins' MA fashion program in 2002, and his collections at London Fashion Week have always been so well received. It's so exciting that now his designs will be available at a more affordable price point—but also, maybe I don't have to worry I'm dressing too young for my age when I shop at Jack Wills?
Ah, well.
