Anoraks: Replace Your Springtime Classic Trench With This Cold-Weather Wardrobe Staple

Gone are the days of anoraks being limited to the arctic tundra. Designers have begun to incorporate more urban versions of my new favorite classic into their collections, and I promise—you will become immediately hooked if you try them.
For the purposes of full disclosure, I spent six months coveting a hunter green APC anorak that I had seen at the brand's preview in April, and now that I own it, I have no idea how I ever lived without one. I’m a total anorak convert!
An anorak is not only the warmest coat you will ever own, but it's truly the winter version of the classic trench—you can wear it with everything, and it will become your cold-weather wardrobe staple.
BCBG-21

BCBG totally lined its anorak, body-to-collar, and I can only imagine how warm and amazing it is. The fur gives the coat an extra something special, peeking out from the bottom and sides, but the design remains simple enough so that you can still wear it as an everyday staple.

McQ-20

I love the plaid lining on this McQ coat. Coming from someone who rarely closes her coat, no matter how cold, I love the extra detail that sets this anorak apart from the rest. Regardless of the silhouette, there’s something a little bit more fun about a coat with an unexpected edge.

No-21-02
Speaking of the unexpected detail, this two-tone design of my favorite No. 21 anorak is awesome. Both fabrics are in the same color family, so it’s not overwhelming, but the color-block wool design makes this classic a little more dressed up than the others.

Do you own an anorak? Do you have another classic winter coat you love? Let us know!
