3 New Jessica Alba-Inspired Hair and Makeup Ideas (Because She's Basically the Best Beauty Muse Around Lately)

Jessica Alba is fast becoming one of our favorite hair and makeup muses. Every time she steps out in public I'm taking notes on her cosmetics and coiffure choices. Here are my three fave Jess-A beauty moments from this month alone (at this rate, I might have to do this roundup every month!).

1. Dark lips/nails and a high ponytail

2. A sexy retro updo

3. Palest pink lips and heavy lashes

You Will Become Chicer Just by Looking at This Hair and Makeup From Paris Fashion Week

Ladies, I have a little beauty eye candy to deliver from you, straight from the runway in Paris.
At yesterday's Alexis Mabille spring 2014 show, models topped bouffant hairstyles with thick blue headbands. It's such a chic retro look (although admittedly probably not one that you'd copy in an exact/literal way). And the makeup! Look how the warm brown tones of the eyes take the edge off the red, matte, sharp lip.

Diane Kruger Makes Summer White Heels Work for a Chic Fall Party Outfit (designed by PRABAL)

Accessories that work with our outfits, regardless of season, really are the best. So who knew that summer's second hottest heel—the white pump—would be one of them? Well, Diane Kruger did.

Let's take a moment to drink this all in. To celebrate the Metropolitan Opera season opening, the always-amazing Glamour Style Icon looks breathtaking in a structured Prabal Gurung resort 2014 contrast-paneled gown and white-hot Casadei heels. So, yes, you can wear white shoes after Labor Day (seriously, who made up these rules?). But to make the look seasonal, Diane paired the pumps with a color mix that featured white but also darker fall-ready shades. And done—your summer shoes are totally autumn-appropriate.
Diane's gown was designed by Prabal and Prabal only (no mega-designer collab on this one), and look: He even came along to help with the red carpet styling.

How Having Kids Made Jessica Alba Love Her Body More

A lot of women feel that their bodies are very different after they have babies—and they are! Think about everything your body just did to create a new person!—and, in Jessica Alba's case, having kids made her realize how critical she used to be about herself.

Says Alba: "I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never wore them before. Ever. I was so self-conscious.... But I remember I was 28 or 29, at an MTV award thing, and my girlfriend Kelly was like, 'You should wear a short skirt, because you are not going to be this age forever.' Now I'm a lot more confident in my skin—because who cares? At the end of the day, it's so much time spent on something that really doesn't matter that much."
Jessica rather famously sported a corset for several months after giving birth, and says she'd do it again, telling Health: "Who wouldn't! Your muscles are completely stretched. It gets the muscle memory going quicker. It's just to get your body back. Because everything is everywhere!"
But Jessica says she's also focused on eating well (not "dieting")—picking unprocessed and fresh foods that have the "least amount of GMOs and pesticides"—and choosing workouts that don't leave her bored and doing the same thing over and over again. Her exercises of choice: dancing and interval training.
