Miranda Kerr (A.K.A. the Perfect Outfit Maker) Spills Her Style Secrets and Spring Shopping List

Miranda Kerr is a street-style-photographer magnet—namely because she gorgeously concocts perfect outfits on a daily basis (seriously, it's unreal how she does it). And, sure, you may be wondering: Is she every bit as stunning and chic in person? Actually, even more so (if that's humanly possible).
I caught up with the Victoria's Secret stunner yesterday at the Bowery Hotel to celebrate her new role as the face of Shopstyle, a.k.a. the fashion girl's ultimate retail therapy addiction— and, yes, I made her spill her style secrets. So keep reading!

GLAMOUR: First and foremost, how do you manage to look so chic and beautiful in this terribly snowy New York City weather?
Miranda Kerr: Well, it's all about having a great jacket. I've been in here doing interviews and whatnot, so I've had time to warm up by the fire and thaw out. That helps. [Laughs]
So we're kind of obsessed with you and how you look so amazing all the time, even in random street-style shots of you running errands, etc. How do you manage to put together the perfect outfit, every day?
MK: Well, that's very flattering for me. I don't see it as perfect, but I see it as what am I feeling on that particular day. Where am I going? And is it going to be functional? I like it to fit my individual body shape, and I encourage other women to find what works for their body shape and not necessarily follow trends. But what is it that works for you as an individual, and what brings out the best in you, and what can you have fun with and feel really good about. Accessories are a great way to do that as well. Like you'll see me with my sunglasses and a scarf, but otherwise I like to keep the look pretty simple most of the time.
What are some of your favorite accessories?
MK: Handbags. I love handbags. And shoes. Investing in like a great handbag or a pair of shoes can really make or break an outfit. It's fun to mix and match high street with luxury brands and throw in a bit of vintage as well.
Considering this snowy winter, we're really looking forward to spring. What's on your spring essentials checklist?
MK: I would say white—I love white on white. It's very fresh, and it goes with so many different skin tones. I'm loving the florals because I find them very inspiring and very uplifting. And a little metallic. It's fun to accessorize with a little metallic—whether it be a metallic shoe or a handbag or a little bit on the glasses. I also saw a metallic skirt that I really like as well.
What was the skirt silhouette?
MK: I like the high-waisted and down-to-the-knee skirt. Classic.
So do you ever repeat items?
MK: Oh, yes. These shoes that I'm wearing. [Miranda actually takes off one of her stiletto pumps to show me, adorable]. You'll see me wearing them always. They're the tortoiseshell print. The color tone is very versatile—it's not black, it's not brown. The way that the light reflects on the shoe is nice. They're actually quite comfortable for a heel. They're my favorite piece, and I wear them a lot.
For fellow Shopstyle retail therapy seekers, what's your online shopping search strategy?
MK: I like to look for the editors' picks because I find that it's nice to see how someone else is viewing a current trend. I think that's nice and also refreshing to have someone else's point of view. Like, 'oh, I wouldn't have thought of that,' but it's nice how they mix and matched that together.
