Jewelry designer Annette Gabbedy has worked as a fine jewelry designer and goldsmith for more than 20 years—creating gorgeous, delicate pieces that can cost thousands of dollars. But there's one thing that sets Gabbedy apart from other jewelry designers: She was born without fingers.

"Naturally, people can see, visually, that there's a little bit of a difference about me," she says in an interview with SWNS TV. "I don't have fingers, which most people would expect a goldsmith to have. Obviously making jewelry is very tactile and something you do with your hands. I do find that people usually do have that question of 'How do you manage to create jewelry?' let alone the day-to-day things as well. And my answer to that really is that I tend to really look at people who have fingers and think, Well, how can you manage with fingers, because they must get in the way."
