Blake Lively Shows Us an Even Easier Way to Do a Wrapped Ponytail

I'm sure you're all familiar with the concept of a wrapped ponytail by now—you leave one section of hair beneath your pony loose, then wrap it round and round the base and pin, so it covers the elastic and leaves your hairstyle looking polished and chic. However, maybe some of you are also familiar with how this can be easier said than done, especially if you have slippery-straight and/or fine hair. If so, Blake Lively just helped make the wrapped ponytail hairstyle more wearable for you.

At an appearance for Gucci in Dubai today, Blake wore her long hair in a wrapped pony, and there are a couple things to note.
1. The hair isn't wrapped snugly around the base of her pony. There's a little volume in it still. That's a good strategy to copy if you don't have a ton of hair—looser wrapping makes your pony look less thin/skimpy.
2. The wrap section, like the rest of her hair, was also allowed to have some texture. Some teasing, dry shampoo, and/or hairspray make this (and any updo!) so much easier to perfect and pin into place in a way that'll stay.
Do you wear a wrapped pony? Got any tricks for making this hairstyle work?
