Christos Garkinos lends a hand to Garcelle Beauvais

As co-owner of Hollywood designer vintage mecca Decades, Christos Garkinos has worked with celebs including Winona Ryder, Garcelle Beauvais, and Dita Von Teese—and, come this spring, you'll be able to add Christos' extraordinary sense of style to your wardrobe.

Glamour got an exclusive sneak-peek at Garkinos' brand-new collection for HSN—called Eureka by Christos Garkinos. The vintage-inspired looks include a Chanel-inspired little tweed-ish jacket, Sophia Loren-reminiscent peasant blouses, and other super-covetworthy pieces—all priced from $59.50 to $119.90.

We caught up with Garkinos in LA to find out what inspires him, who is muse is, and which pieces he considers absolute must-haves. Check it out.
Glamour: I'm sensing a retro vibe in some of your pieces—no surprise, since you're a master of designer vintage. Which decades influenced your collection most?
Christos Garkinos: I have been in the world’s best closets for the past 15 years—every decade inspired me. I do love the 90’s though—I was living in London when the whole Kate Moss explosion occurred. It was a full circle moment when I met her at Decades about 20 years later.

Glamour: Who is the quintessential Eureka by Christos Garkinos woman?

Christos Garkinos: She is my mom, my sister, and any other real-size woman who wants a touch of Hollywood style inspired by the world’s best closets.

Glamour: And your muse?
Christos Garkinos: From a muse standpoint, it would have to be Sophia Loren. She was the first celebrity I “met." I was turning 15 and she was doing a trunk show for her perfume in Michigan. I made my parents take me! As she passed me wearing a peasant blouse and those sunglasses, I waved to her and kinda screamed and said it was my birthday. She looked up at me. And I promptly fell off my chair—real slick—hence the presence of a peasant blouse in my collection.
Glamour: What are the three must-have pieces from your new collection?
Christos Garkinos: That’s not a fair question! They are all my children.

I would have to go with the peasant blouse (that you can pair with an obi belt), the sickest shirtdress ever, and a beautiful striped sweater with back zip inspired by my pal Garcelle Beauvais. I’ve dressed over 13,000 women in my career—crazy, right? So I know what silhouette works on women’s bodies. These pieces will definitely become go-to pieces in my HSN clients’ closets.

Glamour: Is there anyone you haven't dressed that you'd love to work with?
Christos Garkinos: Catherine Denueve. Hello Belle du Jour! I definitely would like to see her in my black and white column dress. It’s very chic and she could rock it with some vintage YSL jewels.

Glamour: If you were reincarnated as a fashion item/collection/person/brand, what would you choose?
Christos Garkinos: Well, he’s still alive. But it would have to be Tom Ford. The man can do no wrong.
