A lot of women feel that their bodies are very different after
they have babies—and they are! Think about everything your body just did
to create a new person!—and, in
Jessica Alba's case, having kids made her realize how critical she used to be about herself.
Says Alba:
"I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never
wore them before. Ever. I was so self-conscious.... But I remember I was
28 or 29, at an MTV award thing, and my girlfriend Kelly was like, 'You
should wear a short skirt, because you are not going to be this age
forever.' Now I'm a lot more confident in my skin—because who cares? At
the end of the day, it's so much time spent on something that really
doesn't matter that much."
Jessica rather famously sported a corset for several months after giving birth, and says she'd do it again, telling
Health:
"Who wouldn't! Your muscles are completely stretched. It gets the
muscle memory going quicker. It's just to get your body back. Because
everything is everywhere!"
But Jessica says she's also focused on eating well (not
"dieting")—picking unprocessed and fresh foods that have the "least
amount of GMOs and pesticides"—and choosing workouts that don't leave
her bored and doing the same thing over and over again. Her exercises of
choice: dancing and interval training.
